How to prepare for your laboratory appointment:
Fasting. If you have been asked to fast (abstain from eating), then don't eat or drink anything other than water 8 hours before your blood collection. Check with your doctor about requirements. Fasting is often required for testing glucose levels and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, and HDL).
Medications. Continue taking all medication as prescribed unless otherwise requested by your doctor.
Available time. Some tests, such as glucose tolerance, may take several hours to perform.

It is not possible to learn whether this lab is open on a holiday such as Columbus Day and its' Saturday hours are not reported. j This is quite inconvenient and a failure of the Quest LABORATORY SYSTEM'
