How to prepare for your laboratory appointment:
Fasting. If you have been asked to fast (abstain from eating), then don't eat or drink anything other than water 8 hours before your blood collection. Check with your doctor about requirements. Fasting is often required for testing glucose levels and lipids (cholesterol, triglycerides, and HDL).

The woman in charge at this lab is very rude if you are a walk in. The company clearly states walks in are welcome, but she berates clients and makes them wait longer if they do so. I have been to other Quest locations and never had a problem. She is negative and unhelpful. At one regular coumadin level appointment I had there, my script had expired and I had no phone with me to call my doctor for another to be sent. I drove home and contacted my Doctors office and they said the lab routinely calls them to fax scripts and she should have offered this to me. At my next appointment I called her on this situation and she relented and said she could have called but I never asked for that so she wasn't going to offer it if I didn't know about it. Customer service is a real failing at this location.
