 | 1 Flask Rating for THOMAS ANDREW KIMBERLY APRN, MSN Comment: I showed up to the ER at Yale in 2017, with clear symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure. Thomas Kimberly (who was the provider that saw me) assumed it was not congestive heart failure (since I was young) and decided not to order an EKG. Not ordering an EKG delayed my heart failure condition from being discovered, which delayed me from being prescribed the heart medications I needed. When my heart failure was diagnosed, which was days later, one of the doctors at Yale told me that "a mistake was made, my condition was overlooked." The doctor told me if the provider that saw me in the ER (which was Thomas Kimberly) simply ordered an EKG, my heart failure would have been discovered "IMMEDIATELY." After obtaining my medical records and having other doctors (not at Yale) look at it, they came to the same conclusion. I contacted Yale’s Patient Relations, and after they did a case study, they apologized and said they are going to teach their staff to not make that mistake again. |
