 | 1 Flask Rating for LAURA COHEN LCSW Comment: This provider routinely cancelled visits, often at the last moment, did/would not commit to an ongoing weekly time, and gave appallingly short sessions, as short as 16 minutes of the allotted 45 minutes (this last, when I was in particular distress, go figure). As regards her psychological savvy, let this serve as an example - when I was describing problems with obsessively dark, disabling and painfully persistent ruminations and catastrophizing, her advice was, "Then stop doing that!", like something out of a bad SNL skit. Perhaps she did not like me, or felt we were a bad fit. If that were indeed the case (possible!), she hadn't a clue how to deal with her own counter-transference, nor have the wisdom and decency to suggest we part and that I move on. Perhaps she's Anna Freud, Melanie Klein, and Karen Horney roled into one for the right patient - maybe that's you, I'm just one person. My experience of her was that she was unprofessional, irresponsible, unempathic, and uninsightful. |
