 | 1 Flask Rating for DR. DAVID P MCCANN MD Comment: Very poor communication skills. Very limited discussion of surgery options, lens selection, details of the surgery procedure, past eye history and followup of cataract development over a 6 month period. Bed side manner is totally lacking! Example: comment that if the eye surgery fails I still have one other eye. Appears to be more concerned in whether I elect to have or not have the surgery. Licensed in Hawaii as well . Reviews there provide the same assessment. Yes, he asks if you have any questions, but unless you have thoroughly researched cataract surgery it is difficult difficult to ask questions especially with the very minimal information Dr. McCann provides. As a Ph.D. in the biomedical sciences I finally looked at a detailed article by the American Academy of Ophtalmology which provides a very detailed discussion of cataract surgery and what a surgeon should provide the patient. Dr. McCann fails on almost all the requirements. NOT RECOMMENDED. |
