Air Transport:
Medical Air Transport can be used for patients, family members, corporations, managed care companies, nursing homes, hospitals, insurance companies, assistance companies and other medical care providers. A few examples are air ambulance and helicopter. This method of transport is often used in a life or death situation where time is critical.
Ambulance:
A vehicle for transportation for sick and injured people to, from or between places of treatment for illness or injury. Sometimes they will offer out of hospital care to the patients. Ambulances are part of the medical health team within the health care system.
Land Transport:
Most types of land transportation services are available twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year. The type of service depends on whether or not it's an emergency and the distance needed to go. Examples of land transportation are private vehicle, taxi, ambulance or medical van.
Water Transport:
Water transportation is used if an incident has occurred on the water. This may be a medical rescue boat if the incident is serious and immediate medical facilities are required. If the nature of the injury is not life threatening a private boat might be used.
