To my surprise I was given a Oralert drug test and I told who ever was giving me the test that I did have a gum and she said it did not mater also told her that my mouth was very dry, she said it did not mater, that the sponge should be in my mouth for 10 minutes, but she never told me how to use the sponge that should be very wet. We continue with the exam she took the sponge out of my mouth and put it on the collector device and leave it there and we went to the next room. She did some routine check ups and some exercises and when she finish, she went to the other room and came back to tell me that we have to stop because my test came positive on drugs that I was using marijuna and antidepressants. I was shocked, how can that be possible I consider my self very healthy I do not take any medication at all some times very seldom I take ibuprofen for a head ache, but I do not take any drugs at all. I told the nurse or who ever was giving me the test that it has to be a mistake that I do not do drugs at all and told her to give another test that I just finish eating and drink tea and that I have a gum in my mouth but she said that she was sorry that the test is very expensive and I offer to pay for it my self but she said that there is nothing she can do. I told her to give me the name of the test that I will see on my computer how that was possible to be that wrong. I lost the opportunity to get a job that I need so much to support my 14 year old daughter. I am a single parent and currently working 14 hours a week for 8.00 an hour. because her age I will never give my daughter a bad example of using drugs. I am 57 years old and very mature dedicated mother. do not know how much this affected me its so humiliating and powerless what can I do? I do not use any drugs. So I went to the internet and open the information about Oralert test and check how to use it and found out that you can not put any type of food, drink,or gum prior 10 minutes before the test. also said that if come positive to send it to the lab for confirmation. We left the test unattended I do not know if any body could change it. Please can a Doctor help me to give me another test and tell the company that send me to Dr. Martinez that I do not use drugs of any type. here I pasted the instructions on how to use the test. Please contact me @ 626) 388-0207 any time. Instruct the donor to not place anything in the mouth including food, drink, gum or tobacco products for at least 10 minutes prior to collection 2. Insert sponge end of collector into mouth. Actively swab the inside of the mouth and tongue with sponge. As soon as the sponge softens slightly, gently press the sponge between the tongue and teeth to ensure complete saturation. The sponge is saturated when no hard spots can be detected. Collect for a total of (3) minutes before removing sponge. 3. Insert collector into device as shown. push collector down into chamber. Turn collector clockwise to lock into chamber. Wait 1 minute. 4. Rotate collection chamber 90O counterclockwise. 5. Wait 9 minutes and read results. 6. If results are positive, remove collector form device and secure reservoir with tamper evident tape. Secure cap onto collection chamber. Send device to laboratory for confirmation. Laboratory can access reservoir through stopper. PLEASE NOTE: If these instructions are not followed, the drug test will not work! If you are having trouble getting the test to work, then you have not collected enough saliva! The sponge collector must be completely saturated (donor should bite down on sponge so that there are no hard places in the sponge)! Copyright © 2009 Transmetron |
