 | 1 Flask Rating for CLAUDIA DELLABITTA LCSW Comment: All I can say is, if you want a therapist who will truly understand and support you, look elsewhere. One of the major reasons why I've been going to therapy is because I was bullied and made fun of a lot when I was growing up, and hurt in other ways by other children. Claudia Dellabitta pretty much indicated that because those creeps were just kids, had issues of their own, etc., that what they did was perfectly acceptable. One of the kids who hurt me deeply was a neighbor girl who was younger than me, but take my word for it when I say that girl knew what she was doing and that it was wrong. Believe it or not, children are smarter than adults give them credit for. I told Claudia about how this girl hurt and humiliated me, and all she'd say was "But she was just a little girl," or some other generic excuse. Ms. Dellabitta practically defended this little girl who traumatized me, and made it sound like what she did was completely acceptable. In addition, Ms. Dellabitta made it sound like it was my fault this girl hurt me, and when I told her she just made it sound like that, she asked if I could learn to forgive myself. Excuse me, but I wasn't the one initiating inappropriate behavior with someone else when I knew we shouldn't be doing it, and that it made the other person uncomfortable! That girl may have been younger, but trust me, she knew what she was doing was wrong. So yeah, if you want someone who will truly understand and support you, don't go to Claudia Dellabitta, look elsewhere. Heck, I'm having a few more anxiety and anger issues because of her! Anyone else who was bullied, made fun of, and/or traumatized in other ways by other children while growing up, should know and understand exactly what I'm talking about. |
